ESF

European Social Fund

The European Social Fund (ESF) is one of four Structural Funds designed to strengthen economic and social cohesion in the European Union and who's main purpose is to support the annual UK Employment Action Plan.

The ESF aims to help unemployed and inactive people enter work, provide opportunities for people at a disadvantage in the labour market, promote lifelong learning, develop the skills of employed people and improve women's participation in the labour market.

The Neighbourhood Renewal Unit (NRU) is responsible for overseeing the Government's neighbourhood renewal strategy.

London Development Agency

The Mayor of London's agency responsible for ensuring London's sustainable economic growth. To help deliver this, the London Development Agency (LDA) works with partners from industry, public and voluntary sectors.

One of the the LDA's main aims is to develop London as an inclusive city that encourages everyone to benefit from its economic prosperity. With this purpose, the LDA aims to tackle barriers to employment, reduce disparities between groups in the labour market, improve the skills of the workforce and address the barriers that affect various disadvantaged groups.
